Synopsis – When a mysterious force decimates the population, only one thing is certain — if you see it, you die. The survivors must now avoid coming face to face with an entity that takes the form of their worst fears. Searching for hope and a new beginning, a woman and her children embark on a dangerous journey through the woods and down a river to find the one place that may offer sanctuary. To make it, they’ll have to cover their eyes from the evil that chases them — and complete the trip blindfolded.
I finally got to watch Birdbox, after so much Twitter hype; social media hype in general, and I think that the hype kind of ruined the movie for me.
I looked forward to seeing so much in the movie, that it ruined helping me understand the movie too.
First off, most of the scenes didn’t seem or feel that realistic.
I felt like I was waiting for the story to truly begin, and I just was left hanging somewhere along the line.
Movie had me like “what aree they seeinggggg ohhhh”, show us neowwww”
But no, we didn’t get to see the mystery thing. Sigh
Like I wanted more; I wanted depth or more depth (I mean except I truly missed the depth of the story, which by the way you can please let me know), and I wanted to just enjoy the movie without the hype at/in the back of my mind!
Also, I couldn’t logically get pass thinking “how realistic are some/most of these scenes?”
Aren’t these like loopholes?
Because really, hmm yimu, how are they just on a boat for hourssss, blindfolded, and even surviving that dangerous boat accident! Wawu!
Driving to a supermarket blindly without any ghen ghen accident or something?
Technology must be that advanced wow!
How are they able to… you know what nvm.
In essence, “how believable/realistic is this whole story”, was the question on my mind.
Anyway, na “just movie”
I’m not sure I was that thrilled sha, based on say the movie na Drama/Thriller.
But for what it’s worth, the part where she had to profess love for “Girl”, and gave them names, were the parts that really touched me. *tear jerking stuff*
Like I legit cried.
I should think of watching Birdbox later again.
Maybe, Just maybe!
Rating – 3/10 or 5/10 because of the different take to this “apocalyptic” storyline ; Can’t exactly decide! (Indecisions Indecisions)
