Natalie is a New York architect who works hard to get noticed at her job, but is more likely to deliver coffee and bagels than design the city’s next skyscraper. Things go from bad to weird when she gets knocked unconscious during a subway mugging and magically wakes up to find herself in an alternate universe. Always cynical about love, Natalie’s worst nightmare soon comes true when she suddenly discovers that she’s playing the leading lady in a real-life romantic comedy.

First time I saw the trailer for “Isn’t It Romantic”, I wasn’t interested, or like it didn’t catch my fancy.
But to my surprise, I enjoyed the movie. Haha
So yeah this storyline is kind of cliché though, reminds me of Amy Schumer’s “I Feel Pretty” movie, where you have a plus size lady breaking the stereotypical “love is for slim girls only” storyline, finding self love first, before perhaps finding love in a man.
And even though this movie moves in that direction sorta, it at least keeps you laughing at its silliness almost throughout; laughing enough that you don’t want to ruin the movie with your laughter, so you proportion your laughs accordingly, as the movie won’t give you enough time to laugh before it’s on to its next silliness. Lol (whatever this means).
Isn’t It Romantic is a silly feel good movie kinda, that keeps you smiling and literally gushing over Priyanka Chopra, and how lucky Nick Jonas is (na man him be), how silly Liam Hemsworth and his Australian accent seemed to be in the movie 😄, the totally cliche romantic comedy storyline the movie tries to make fun of sarcastically, and the cinematic effects, and the humming along to the soundtracks.
If you need a beginner’s guide movie about self love, the kind that actually makes you realize you need to love yourself so you don’t become oblivious to the external love around you, and a movie to uplift your mood and make you forget your problems for a bit, then this is the movie for you, even though it still ironically has the same cheesy ending of every other romantic movie the movie makes fun of.
Have you seen the movie though?
What did you think?
If you haven’t, well, go have fun!😊
